The technique for the mug rug is the same simple quilt-as-you-go method I described in this post: http://quiltersdiary.com/log-cabin-quilt-as-you-go-block/. You just cut out a small piece of batting and the same size piece of backing fabric. I&#039;d suggest 5&quot; x 7&quot; or 4&quot; x 6&quot;, then use scraps to piece the front of the mug rug, then bind just as you would a larger quilt.
