Update: The giveaway is now closed, and we have a winner: Nancy W. from Florida. Thanks to everyone who entered. We’ll be posting a new giveaway soon.

We’re STILL working on finding new homes for the bottomless pile of unfinished projects in our sewing room, and that means one lucky blog reader will get this set of 12 beautiful cat blocks, absolutely free. The blocks are 7″ x 5.5″, and it looks to us like they were made with reproduction Civil War fabrics.

Will you be the lucky winner?

To enter the giveaway, just scroll down and leave a comment on this post. (If you’re a first-time commenter, your comment will go to our anti-spam filter to be approved, but don’t worry — we check the filter daily to make sure we don’t miss you.) The winner will be chosen randomly on Friday, September, 1, from all the comments.

Good luck, and happy quilting!

  1. Love these cats! I have four and these would be so easy to adopt into the pride 😉 No hissing or spitting allowed!

    Thanks,

  2. I just bought the book “Quilts for Beginners” and anxious to give it a go. I never tried quilting before now because I don’t enjoy a lot of hand sewing but enjoy sewing by machine. This is right where my interest lies. I don’t have any material picked out as yet but I do believe I have all the equipment I need. If it works out as planned I’m hoping to make a quilt for each of my children…and who knows, maybe grandchildren! What an awesome heirloom that would be! I do enjoy your newsletters/tutorials and find them helpful especially as a beginner. It’s especially fun for us readers to have the opportunity to win some of your giveaways. It’s a win, win situation! Many thanks for taking the time to help others.

      1. I finished my first project…quilt as you go runner. I am very pleased how it turned out for my first try at quilting. HOWEVER, I am clearly doing something wrong with the mitered corners. I am stopping 1/4 inch from the end, turning the binding up with the 45 degree angle at the right and then bringing the binding straight down lining up the raw edges and stitching along the edge. When I flip the binding over it just doesn’t lay correctly….or I just don’t understand how it should lay. The stitches do catch a small portion of the 45 degree angle. To me, it just appears I’m doing something wrong. Can you give me any advice on this? Are there any videos to watch to help me out?
        Thank you for your help.
        Nancy

  12. We lost our cat Duffy a few months ago. He was only 7 years old and apparently had either a stroke or heart attack during the middle of the night.Shocked to find him in the AM! He was everything to us. Just two weeks ago, we finally felt comfortable enough to adopt another cat. Only 3 months old weighing 3.5 lbs. His name is Brady. He is very sweet and affectionate, but also a mad man on paws. He will be a challenge to train him to the house rules.

Maybe, just maybe if I am fortunate enough to win the cat blocks and make a quilt with them, Brady just may get an idea of what quiet time is!
