My Kind of Party

I know a lot of quilters whose social life revolves around quilting. I’ve never been organized enough to quilt in a group. For me, quilting is mostly a matter of snatching a few minutes here and a few minutes there in between all the other things I have to do. It takes place in my sewing room/garage, with only my dog for company. But it’s still a party! Colors! Textures! Excitement! Surprises! Coffee! Old Law and Order episodes on Netflix in the background!

Is quilting your kind of party, too?

  1. That’s my kind of party, my sewing machine and my dog Harley by my side whenever we get a chance! 🙂

  2. Quilting parties are the only kind of parties I attend. Love to quilt with others but never do these days. Living out in the tullies has it’s drawbacks. My party these days consists of some quilting program on my iPad and me sewing.

  3. I am with you Felicity, I haven’t found anyone but the cats and the dog to quilt with. And I am trying to fit it in here in there in between taking care of my two daughters who are both toddlers! I long for a quilting buddy who is about my age and shares the same love of fabric and all things quilty with me!

    1. Oh, how well I remember those days when my girls were little like yours are now, Jenn. The good news is that you gradually get more of your time back and then you might have a bit more time to find that quilty buddy. Until then, quilt on!

  4. Oh yes! I plan mini vacations with my quilting buddy! We get together every Wednesday to quilt. We often share a bottle of wine in the afternoon. It is a party for sure!

    1. I’m totally jealous, Teresa. I really wish I had a regular quilting buddy. Most of my friends have other interests. You’re inspiring me to get involved in some local quilting groups.
