Work in Progress Wednesday: Mixed-Up Log Cabin Star Quilt

I worked on this quilt for a couple of days and was almost finished stitching it in the ditch when I noticed I had sewed one row on backwards. Can you see the flaw in my star in the photo below? Hint: the top two points face in the wrong direction. Aaargh!

My loyal kids and husband assured me that they didn’t even notice the flaw. As for me, I’m blaming it all on Leap year, and trying to remember my quilting motto: love your mistakes! But now I’ve promised myself that I’ll make this quilt again and do it right. I do like the red-white-and-blue theme.
