Quilt Block Giveaway: Paper Pieced 1930s Beauties
Update, March 17, 2018: The giveaway is now closed. Nancy W. is the winner. Thanks to everyone who entered.
I’m cleaning up the sewing room by giving away this set of twelve paper-pieced quilt blocks in charming 1930s reproduction fabrics. These came to from a quilting friend who had them in her sewing room for several years before deciding she was too busy to use them. She passed them on to me.
Now I’ve come to the same realization — charming as they are, I haven’t made them into a quilt. So now it’s your chance. One of our blog subscribers will get these beautifully pieced blocks. Will you be the winner?
How to Enter the Giveaway
To enter your name, just scroll down and post a comment on this post. The winner will be chosen at random from all the entries received on Friday, March 16.
Good luck!
What a welcome joy to receive your email. I’ve been in “Stay Safe Stay Home” for 2 weeks now because of the Coronavirus. I’ve been feeling sorry for myself, but seeing your website has inspired me to start seeing and quilting again. My first project will be to sew masks for the children I see at grocery stores with their parents. Maybe they are immune, but we don’t know for sure.
Thanks for making my day!
Newbee would live to win
I would love the opportunity to win these retro blocks. They will inspire me to branch out with other projects like wall hanging. Thank you.
I’m sorry, Debra, but these blocks have already been given away. You can enter this week’s giveaway here: https://newquilters.com/post/giveaway-beginners-guide-to-quilting-book

So Cool!! I would love to win!!
Would be nice to win
Beautiful blocks from the 30’s!
Such bold, vivid & beautiful colors! Would perfectly match a person with a cheerful personality! LOL! An afghan in these colors would surely brighten up any room it adorns. The process of paper piecing reminds me of the quilt-as-you-go table runner from your beginners book. Easy to do with awesome results! Wouldn’t white strips between each block make them pop? The patterns and colors are the perfect combination in time for Easter!
These beautiful blocks would make an amazing quilt! I would love to win them!!!

I am always drawn to the 30’s fabrics. They remind me of my grandmother Ida who made beautiful quilts. I wish she was alive to teach me her techniques.

I love anything to do with quilts! All winter long I’ve been in my sewing room using my stash of scraps. I’ve got several quilts in progress, working on one until I hit a snag, then jumping onto the next. I’ve not yet used 30’s reproduction fabrics, so I’d love to receive the quilt blocks! Thanks for the chance to win them!

“Never be afraid to start something new when you get to be my age!” says I! My daughter must be tired of hearing me spout about the enjoyment I receive from starting to quilt at 75. (Actually, she’s proud and happy for me!) It consists of new friends, new challenges, and a very patient teacher. All my new projects involve a trip to the fabric store. (No stash) Winning this Give-Away would save me a trip and give me a new project to think about and share.
Looks like the start of a quilt for our June expected Great-granddaughter!
